Macclesfield is a town in the picturesque Adelaide Hills which was first established in 1840. The Sub-Branch was established in 1941 during World War Two by World War One veterans and was originally located in the Macclesfield Institute. In 1958 the Sub Branch purchased the old Primary School Building which was built in 1855.
The Sub Branch is situated in the heart of town, Venable Street. Car parking is available in front with the rear yard now reserved for our 150 year plus old heritage listed English Oak Tree.
Membership of around 150 consists of both Full Service Members and Affiliates. Many are whole families! All members of the public who support the ideals of the RSL are strongly encouraged to apply for membership of our Sub Branch and enjoy the privilege of having joined what we think is Australia's most revered Organisation.
The Sub Branch is open often and all members and the public are invited to come and enjoy the fellowship and great country hospitality. Also take the time to view our growing list of memorabilia or just research some of your family.
Check also the what’s on list for opening dates and times. Also keep and eye out at other times - because there’s a good chance the Sub Branch may be open anyhow with somebody looking for company that you can provide - so don’t be shy - COME IN!!!
